So i am currently making tile maps fallowing this tutorial.<br />http://www.gamefromscratch.com/post/2015/04/28/Godot-Engine-Tutorial-Part-8-Tilemaps.aspx<br /><br />I have very little time to do this since i work full time and have maybe an hour every other day to work on this. I would like to start learning some other parts of Godot and not spend weeks on making tile maps. Is there any way to quickly make these maps? Is there a script i can use or maybe if i chop them up before hand in gimp or something? any help or ideas would be great.

I havent tried it myself but there is a plugin for importing tilemaps made with the "Tiled" map editor.<br />Maybe this works faster:<br />https://github.com/MrGreenTea/GodotTiledImporter

this might be what your looking for... It's for spritemaps, but perhaps it can be of help for this too. I'm not sure however.

Although it was a bit of pain at first, I actually quite like the TileMap system as it is, since it gives you so much control over every single tile.  It's a very robust, albeit time-consuming system. <br /><br />That GIMP plugin looks the most promising, although I imagine you still have to open the .tscn in order to add collision properties and such, but at least the importing process is much much easier.

So i have tried both scripts now and i can't get anything to work. No idea what im doing. I also have no idea how to install plugins for Godot since there is no folder for it and there is no plugin tab in my preferences.

<br />This video from Calum Knot might help with that.

If you want to use Tiled www.mapeditor.org you can use my script https://github.com/alketii/tmx2tscn<br /><br />I made this game https://github.com/KOBUGE-Games/Herbi with that script

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
